One of the special ones, this piece has SO many un-intended magical things in it, including shadows too. It was finished on the eve of a terrible tragedy, and I didn't know what it mean until after the tragedy. I'm not going to talk about it because on first glance it appears dark, but that is in the background, the beautiful light surrounding the main features glow off into the background, such is the light. The girl and her hamster in the moonlit garden should be seen as light emanating from the darkness, and I'm curious to see if it's a prophecy of change in this particular matter? Either way, if you really look into it, the joy at all the little creatures surrounding this little girl, she is so loved, and protected and looked after by pure little animal souls and the hamster I'm not sure in what context but it feels very relevant to her. Everything in this is happenstance and I wish I could create these on purpose, sometimes I don't have a special one for months, sometimes they just flow. This started years ago as a pastel scene and it came from sitting parked on the side of the road near a farm and watching a young cow and crow interact. IT was like they were talking with each other, these sweet little animated movements like one would do to another mid conversation. Years later, I pull it out again and I see it more as, that while a stunningly beautiful scene, backdrop and animals, I may never have even noticed that ONE cow and ONE crow, but rather than as a PART of the scene, it was only that they were conducting this magical discourse in front of me that the beautiful scenery fell away and they came into view. And I thought it's like us...we are only seen when we are something different, good or bad, it's the difference that people notice. acrylic on paper with metallic accents

There is no real story to this. I was inspired by the Whitsundays in Queensland Australia and how gorgeous the Autumn sunsets looked on the yachts in the bays, and kind of combined them both. The beauty of art as opposed to a photo is you can make it whatever you want it to be rather than what is captured. I wanted the color play of the gorgeous sunsets on glistening sails whilst also having that gorgeous blue of the waters of paradise.
